The following are significant dates in the story of Frank Matsura in Japan and the U.S.
1905
Frank leaves Conconully saying he has received a mobilization letter to travel to the Russian front in the Russo-Japan War. Weeks later he returns to Conconully explaining “I missed the boat.”
1907
Frank moves to the new county seat, the town of Okanogan, and sets up a photography studio.
1912
Frank announces he is closing the business indefinitely due to illness. He sells many of his assets.
1913
Frank S. Matsura dies on June 16. His funeral is the largest anyone in the county has seen up to that time. He is buried in Okanogan Cemetery.
